About

The Latin American Studies blog is an initiative of the Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies (ANCLAS), with authors and readers from across the world.

Reflecting the spirit of ANCLAS, this blog was launched in mid-2009 to promote learning and research related to Latin America. By bringing together leading researchers and commentators from different fields, and from Australia and across the world, the Latin American Studies blog is a central place to visit for anyone interested in Latin America. Contributors make regular posts in relation to Latin American culture, history, and contemporary politics.

For those people who already have an interest in Latin America, or who are only now discovering an interest, we hope that this blog keeps you informed and deepens your connection with such an interesting place and people.
